Re: Engine Compartment Insulation

This is on my rapidly growing list for this season. My initial plan was to replace the existing foam with dynamat dynacore.

Re: Mast deck plate / collar rebedding

I went through all the above with limited success. So I had the Mast pulled earlier this week.
On the mast itself once I cut away the crispy rubber boot I found many years of silicon where previous people have attempted to stop the leak. The wedge was also very very hard, I have a new boot and wedge ...

Mast deck plate / collar rebedding

I've been dealing with water coming in around the mast and I'm at the point where I'm confident that the water is coming in under the deck plate. I'm planning on having the mast pulled so I can replace the boot and the wedge and planning on rebedding the plate. Does anyone have any expirence ...

Re: Trying to measure mast rake - no black band

Bill, I don't have a black band either, When you say "even with the hole in the boom fitting that the mainsail tack is attached" are you referring to where the bow shackle attaches ?

Re: Intermittent Engine Water Issue

No it wasn't related to battery state. The alternator is on a serpentine. It could be ( have been ? ) ambient temperature and maybe there is a glazed spot on the belt. I haven't changed it yet, just made it tighter and it hasn't happened since.

Re: Intermittent Engine Water Issue

Took me a couple days to get back to the boat. The impeller is good. And I checked the rubber attachment to the hub and that's good of course during the time I set aside to diagnose it started right up. Even after I pulled the impeller out and started to dry. Good thought on the heat exchanger back ...

Intermittent Engine Water Issue

So I have an intermittent cooling water flow issue on Yanmar 3YM30.

Sometimes when I start the engine, water doesnt flow, what is in the muffler spits out and then nothing. I've let the engine run for a couple of minutes, bringing it up to 3000. Sometimes I hear the muffler fill and it works well ...

Keel Mast Step. OSR securing options.

I got dinged on my OSR inspection for not having my mast secured to the step. Does anybody have a picture of the Mast step without the Mast installed or even better have one they could measure. I want to see if I can just drill through the extrusion into the step.

Also very open to alternatives to ...

Bob Stay Options

Looking for options on installing a Bob Stay for a Code Zero. Initially thinking of a installing an eye on the power just above the water line to a strap around the sprit and and some bunjee to take up slack.

What have you done that worked well.. Or more importantly, what didn't work.

Deck Tie Down Turnbuckle

Am I recently acquired 109 the yard that put the Mast up for the previous owner did not install the wood trim forward of the mast in the cabin likely because it wraps around the deck tie down turnbuckle. The headliner is now sagging because there's nothing to hold it up there. Is there a procedure ...
