Stay Sail Attachment Point

I'm looking to start using a stay sail and need advice on where to put the attachment on the deck. In looking at a 120 who has one there's is just aft of the anchor locker. I talked with the owner and he said he had glassed in a stainless rod that runs across the under deck for support. Any ideas ho...

Re: Cabin Sole

There's a place in FL, World Panel Products Inc, that sells the original J-109 floor. It's basically Formica glued to marine plywood. They sell it in 4 X 8 sheets at $189 a sheet. I'm not sure but I think that price is just the Formica. They used to sell the Formica already glued to the marine plywo...

I am a little terrified to try that pull it out and inch by inch jam the new one in. Yikes! I can envision a LOT of trouble there.

Re: Anti foul Bottom paint

VC off shore. It doesn't make a huge difference in normal or big winds but in the super light stuff it does make a difference.

Re: Gebo Portlight Replacement Parts

I bought the two gaskets for the rear windows and with the international shipping they were VERY expensive. The kicker is although the interior widow frame comes off fairly easy I cannot see ANY way to get the actual window out to replace the gasket. It appears that the window was put in place using...

Re: Video showing how the J/109 outhaul works

This should be read in conjunction with the video provided on this topic. I broke the out haul line this year and decided to replace everything inside the boom. My goose-neck is attached to the boom with SS screws so it was easy to remove and that's all you have to do is take off the goose-neck. You...

Re: Outhaul boom cleat replacement

I also replaced my out haul cleat last year. Mine is attached to the base of the mast and the pull is straight up. I just never liked the idea of people pulling the line back or to the side. I could see at some point that line breaks and someone goes swimming.

Re: Outhaul Line Replacement - How long? Other Advice?

The out haul line on it's own could be 6 or 7 mm it won't make much difference since that line runs off a pulley and directly back to the end of the boom. I don't know how much exactly but 12 feet should be plenty. There is however a number of other lines and pulley's inside the boom starting with a...
