I have a similar problem. The screw under the port side bow pulpit, with the wire going through it, spins as I tighten the nut.
I am wondering if I should pre-order a part before I remove the pulpit and bring to a welding shop, or maybe do all four. This is the second position on the pulpit that ...

On class racing, no advantage. If my proposed rules are accepted, the J/109 would be upgraded as a true dual battery system with additional ABYC requirements like fuses, plus wiring and switches so our boats can fully operate on one battery if ...

Hall Boom Vang Required Maintenance
This caught me by surprise, will add it to my annual to do lists, that our vangs require almost annual maintenance. The primary culprit is the interface between steel and aluminum. In addition to potential product failure, if you allow these screws to deteriorate you will not be able to get inside ...

Crew Manager
I want to share how highly I think of Crew Manager, the application Bill Kneller created and sells. Since my team and I started using it, I make fewer communication mistakes with crew, spend less time coordinating logistics, and on the whole, more crew are participating in races, 20% or more by my ...

Re: Bob Stay Options
Please describe how the bob stay retraction is rigged inside the anchor line to fully retract. How long is the elastic line? I am stumped believing the elastic needs to be at least six feet long to make the necessary retraction of the bobstay, and don't quite see the best way to do that inside the ...

Engine Mount replacement / upgrade
Putting aside what Yanmar publishes, when do the engine mounts need to be replaced? I have a 2007 J/109.
Any advice how to do it?
* DIY project?
* replace them all, or just some?
* access to specific bolts?
* ideas to support the engine?
* in the water / out of the water when replacing?
* how to ...

Engine Compartment Insulation
The insulation is falling off the port side wall of my engine compartment, partially the glue failed and in one spot the insulation has ripped off the pad, perhaps indicating the insulation is fragile.
Has anyone done this repair before?
Is the insulation or glue special?

You are convinced because ???
When I had ** maybe ** a similiar leak, with water coming down the sides of the mast from inside my 109 when it rained, I did the following, each fixed a different source of leak down the mast
