Keel Mast Step. OSR securing options.

Post by PourDecisions »

I got dinged on my OSR inspection for not having my mast secured to the step. Does anybody have a picture of the Mast step without the Mast installed or even better have one they could measure. I want to see if I can just drill through the extrusion into the step.

Also very open to alternatives to meet this requirement that can be completed while the Mast is installed and this week.

Thank you.

Not enough meat there to drill. Make a right angle stainless L bracket and attach one side to the bolt holding the mast base. Drill and tap the other bracket hole with a slightly larger diameter in the mast the bolt can pass through. Screw in a hex head bolt through the bracket into the hole drilled on the mast.
