Hi Rick,

I am doing the annual check/request for a waiver for the mast track on my J/109. Can you please review and let me know if it is allowed in 2016? I received approval for the waiver in 2015 and 2014.

"concluded that the mast track that was added to your J109 prior to your purchase does not provide you with a competitive advantage or present a safety concern, and therefore you can race with your boat as currently configured. Metal slugs or slides in your main are already permitted."

Mast tracks are allowed in J109 class events. The main sail used in the mast track must comply with class rules and have a registered class sail tag on the sail. The mast rack must be firmly affixed to the mast and mot be modifiable or adjusted during the race.
