Re: Checklist 2023 NAC
If I have the two required lead acid batteries meeting the 150 ah requirement plus a lithium battery is that ok for class racing?

Re: Checklist 2023 NAC
Lithium Ion batteries are not Class Legal and must be removed for Class events.
The Technical Committee, with support from J boats, is monitoring the development and as soon as Industry standards are implemented to satisfy all safety concerns we will inform the Class.
Keep in mind our J109's are 20+ year old boats with an electrical system that was not designed for anything but lead acid batteries, it is a big safety concern to just drop in lithium Ion batteries.
