Deck Chainplates

Post by Dan Corcoran »

I am detecting a little bit of water under the deck near the chainplates, possibly it's noise as I have not observed leaks and am guessing that its solid not wood core.

Is it solid? What are the stopes to remove and resealed those big round chainplates to the deck, and what material to use if I decide to take it on?

Thank you!

Hi Dan,

This may be the problem: viewtopic.php?t=1506

And if it is, just taking it all apart and re-beading will not fix it. I just found notes from the first owner indicating that it had been "fixed" that way before, and, of course, it leaked again, so check for this problem first.
