Need Help identifying

Could someone please help me identify this hanging wire with some sort of plastic piece in the middle. One on each side not connected to anything. In extreme aft of the boat.

That is the rudder stop that limits the rotation. There should be one on port and stbd side.

There is one on each side Curious what the black piece in the middle is as it is not connected to anything…thanks for your reply

It's a rubber snubber so the stop is dampened and not a hard stop when the rudder is forced over hard.
