In mast Halyard Routing

I have the mast down on our 109 and I have decided to replace the lower spreaders due to excessive movement.

When I removed the Spreader mount from inside the mast I notice one of the halyards was at the front side of the spreader mount.

Is there a specific way the halyards should be routed?

I am pretty sure it was the Genoa halyard that was on the bow side of the spreader mount.

Given that we have some trouble with slow difficult hoists i would love to rectify this with the mast on the floor

Hi, I have the issue with the excessive spreader motion as well. I haven't taken things apart yet to confirm where the halyards are located. Could you please share how you are fixing the excessive spreader motion?

Thanks, Brooke
