Am I recently acquired 109 the yard that put the Mast up for the previous owner did not install the wood trim forward of the mast in the cabin likely because it wraps around the deck tie down turnbuckle. The headliner is now sagging because there's nothing to hold it up there. Is there a procedure to be able to remove this? Just take tension off the shrouds first? How much tension do I put back on the turnbuckle?

I'm not sure if there is a torque spec that I've seen for it but what has worked for me is to tighten the turnbuckle until you feel tension, then go another full turn. This should stop the plate with the turning blocks from lifting the deck when the halyards are tensioned.

Yes - let the mast free stand when you do this. Shrouds, headstay and backstay can be on but loose. Vang should be slack too.
