- Be underway under power with sails down and always maneuverable
- Display a Sail Newport provided flag that identifies the boat in an official role for the event
- Carry a volunteer supplied by Sail Newport responsible for communicating with spectators as required
The following on the water events are scheduled. You may support any or all events.
- Wednesday 17 May and Thursday 18 May – Pro-Am Races
- Saturday 20 May – In Port Race
- Sunday 21 May – Leg 5 Start to Aarhus
If you are able to support any of these events as a Stake Boat please email Bill Kneller by clicking firstname.lastname@example.org to open a pre-formatted email you may update with your specific information. Volunteer names will be provided to Sail Newport for further coordination. Sail Newport expects to go live with a volunteer website soon where all volunteers may enter their information and apply for the various volunteer positions. There are many other positions for which volunteers are needed during the stopover. Feel free to contact me as needed.

J/109 Custom Boat Website Subscriptions Available
The J/109 Class has arranged with Crew Manager LLC to make custom J/109 boat websites available. In a nutshell, the team website provides a “Who, What, When, Where and Wear” schedule with automatic reminders. After an event, the Skipper may post results and crew members may submit comments, pictures and stories about the event. Crew Manager works on most any device with a web browser including PC, Mac, iPad, Android tablet, iPhone and Android Phone. The cost for an annual subscription is $90 and includes the website setup.
