– Some Great J/109 Racing in August –

There are two great One Design events coming up. 

Safe Harbor Race Weekend – J/109 East Coast Regatta Series

The Safe Harbor Race Weekend  is the 2nd Event in the East Coast Regatta Series and scheduled on Narragansett Bay 11-13 August.  Details are below.

Pequot YC J/109 Regatta

When:  Saturday, August 12. First race start: 1200

Where: Outside Southport Harbor.  Southport, CT.

Open to all boats of the J/109 Class that conform to the J/109 Class Association Rules.  Pequot YC’s big boat fleet includes eight J109s.  We’re hosting a race for our J109s and any others who want to join us. These races will be outside Southport Harbor.  First race start: 1200. Latest start time for last race: 1500. No fee to enter. Crew limited to the driver plus six crew members.  No weigh-in and the weight limit rule will not apply.   Prizes awarded at Pequot YC after the race.  Competitors requiring an overnight guest mooring should contact our Marine Service department: dockmaster@pequotyc.com or 203.255.5740 ext. 19.  Go to: https://proregatta.com/clubs/pequot-yacht-club/events/274/ to enroll.

Safe Harbor Race Weekend Narragansett Bay @ Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard

Fri. August 11th

Thursday

  • 1200-1800 Check-In at assigned Safe Harbor marina

Friday

  • 1200 First Warning Signal
  • 1800 SHNEB Coastal New England Dinner will be held on The Point at Safe
    Harbor New England Boatworks overlooking Narragansett Bay. Transportation to & from hotels
    reserved for Safe Harbor Race Weekend and other local marinas will be available, if needed, for
    guests traveling to and from Safe Harbor New England Boatworks on Friday evening.

Saturday

  • 1200 First Warning Signal
  • 1800 SHNSY Talk of the Town Crew Party and dinner will be held at Safe
    Harbor Newport Shipyard in the heart of downtown Newport featuring live music and local
    crew favorite fare.

Sunday

  • 1200 First Warning Signal
  • 1600 Prize-Giving location will be detailed in the Sailing Instructions.
