Greetings, J/109 Class Members. As some of you may know, several members of the J/109 Executive Board have decided to step down. Therefore the Nominating Committee has been hard at work assembling a slate of Officers for the 2015-16 seasons.
The J/109 Class Association Constitution provides that the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer stand for election for two year terms. Once these new officers officially take the reins, they will appoint a Chief Measurer and an At Large Membership Representative for two year terms, also per the Constitution. The committee’s objective is to have these positions filled with qualified people early in the new year.
The candidates, recommended unanimously by the members of the Nominating Committee and approved unanimously by the Executive Committee, at their recent Annual Meeting, are as follows:
- President: Jim Vos – J/109 #369 Skoot
- Vice President: Jonathan (JR) Rechtschaffer – J/109 #200 Emoticon
- Secretary: Bud Rogers – J/109 #360 Big Boat
- Treasurer: Bill Kneller – J/109 #266 Vento Solare
Our Class is fortunate to have such a strong slate of nominees, and these nominations are now presented to current Voting Members for a vote. To lodge your vote with the J/109 Class Secretary, simply email the Class Secretary, indicating whether you vote “Yay” or “Nay” for this slate of Officers.
Per the Constitution, there will be a 30-day window during which to cast your vote; therefore, this election will close at the end of the day on Sunday, January 11, 2015.
Please note that Voting Members include J/109 owners who are current class members. Please note that in the case of co-ownership, only one vote is allowed. If this applies to you, please consult with your co-owner and submit only one vote.
