Sold: 2005 J109, #241, Northeast FL, ask $113,900

Hull #241 (Pura Vida) is a 2005 model that has the factory shoal keel (5'9" vs 7.0'). In most PHRF rating areas the shoal keel version rates +6 sec./mi. vs the deep keel version. YES! The shoal keel version can race in J109 class regattas as the rig, rudder, etc. are all the same. Note: we did ...

Re: Alternator Belt Dust Fix

Greetings all. As the prior owner of #261, I also saw a lot of belt dusting. What I found is that on #261, the boat came with the refrigeration option which included the 3rd battery and the larger (than Yanmar OEM alternator). The larger Balmar alternator came with a small pulley (I think it was blu...

Anti foul Bottom paint

Greetings. What type of anti fouling bottom pain are you using and where do you sail? I'm in NE FL and there is no consensus on this but I know warmer water will be an issue. The racing here is not as competitive as other parts of the country so most people don't really care down here.

WTB Good used mainsail

Greetings. I'm looking to buy a used mainsail in good shape. I'm thinking of something that may not be at the top of your racing game for class racing but may be decent for club racing. Anyone have a new main on order and looking to sell your older one? I'm not looking for a "delivery" sai...

Re: Refrigeration - compressor location

Interesting. What make/type of compressor fits under the stove?
Or, to ask it another way, what type of ref. unit comes on the french built boats?

Sold! Nexus NX2 multi display, compass, wiring parts

I'm selling a new, old stock Comnav/ Nexus NX2 multi control display. Until Garmin bought Nexus, I was a Nexus dealer and installer. This display was stored as inventory and is brand new in the original box with all the original parts that came with it from the factory. I also have a used Comnav 35*...

Found: WTB shoal keel take off

Greetings all. I'm looking for an OEM J109 shoal keel that may have been taken off a boat for a deep keel conversion. I live in FL now and there's not as much water here as in other places. There are few shoal draft 109s for sale but a conversion may work. Mars keels can still make one if it fits th...

Closed: Wanted, class jib

I'm looking to buy a class jib, any weight. It doesn't have to be class legal. It's not going on a J109.
Regards, Mark

Sold: 2006 J/ 109 hull #261 for sale, eastern CT

Unfortunately, it's time to down size from the 109. I looked into fractional ownership but not much happening there. (Too bad no J97s here) Hull #261 is a 2006 model that never had the keel issue. It has the Yanmar cooling upgrade that permanently fixed the overheating problem that the majority of Y...

Hi Frank. I'd suggest starting a new thread for this so it doesn't get buried in the prior thread.
What kind of smell is it?

To all: the direct, drop in replacement for the OEM push button closures is the Sea Dog part #2243000-1.
These are chrome plated brass (not plastic). One place you can get them is from Defender item 751050, cost $18 ea.
