Fairing work

I'm looking to have my keel and rudder faired this offseason. Any recommendations for a resource who can work with the class offset and layout docs in the Stamford CT area?

Re: Mast Work

Dan,

My rig is down this year as well. Getting new studs and caps on the standing rigging. Where did you get the mast boot: 3607 356 0121 F305? What's involved in moving the wedge at deck level to slide on the new boot? Thanks!

Replacement Boom Vang Tang

Has anyone had to replace the tang on the Sparcraft F550 boom? According to the website it’s part #35241.406.043 performance size 3&4 however wanted to see if anyone had some experience with replacing. Mine has developed a hairline crack so will look to replace before a hopefully breezy NA’s.

Password reset and seamless login to forum

@BillKneller. I successfully changed my password, updated my profile and logged into the website. I didn’t need to use a separate password to write this post! Looks good. Thanks as always for continuing to evolve the website! Next, AI responses to questions submitted to the technical committee!

Pole sleeve for v-berth

Anyone have a picture or two of a pole sleeve mounted in the v-berth to prevent the spinnaker from getting caught up in the control lines or the pole itself? Want to give my canvas guy some direction on how to fabricate one.

Re: Mainsheet cleat support post

IMG_1314.JPG So in my case the bottom threads pulled out of the tube. I have the same access problem you have on ZZ. The entire area is boxed in. I'm thinking about sawing out access from the starboard side lazerette to get access to the lower bolt. Hard to see from the picture however that's plywo...

Mainsheet cleat support post

Anyone have any experience repairing the support post which the block/cleat assembly are mounted forward of the traveler? Mine pulled out at AYC Spring. Access to underneath that part of the cockpit appears to be very difficult.

Thanks

Re: Saildrive Diaphragms Replacement Every 2 Years?

I'm being told that the diaphragm needs replacing every 7-10 years. Being that Emoticon is a 2005 my yard is pressing me to have it done, cost is ~ $4k. Have most 109 owners had this service already done as most boats are from 2003-2007?

Re: Stanchion Swap?

So I while I'm trying to procure the EU stanchions I wanted to run this by the forum. Would the class frown upon simply replacing the gate stanchions with the standard vertical peice and plugging the gate support with a washer and through bolt. See picture. Thoughts?

AYC Spring Series registration is open

Registration for American Yacht Club Spring Series is open on yachtscoring.com. Get in early and hopefully we can get a good turnout for one of the first class events in the North East!

Stanchion Swap?

It is my understanding that European built and US built 109's have a different stanchion configuration at the gates (see attached pictures). My question is would swapping the stanchions be permitted under class rules?

Re: How to replace Delrin pole control line fitting?

Thanks Bill,

I'll give it a try, didn't want to risk forcing the fitting out and doing damage. Waterline was my first call, they only make the fitting in black now, oh well.

How to replace Delrin pole control line fitting?

Anyone ever replace the Delrin fitting for the sprit control line? I have the fitting, only comes in black now unfortunately however unsure how the old worn one is removed and replaced. Any thoughts are appreciated.
