Transom shower temperature trim?
Anyone know where I can find a replacement trim piece for the shower temp on the transom? Or know what company makes it?
Thanks,
Jim

Re: Emergency Rudder?
Thanks Bill, definitely good techniques to know. The system that the RC requires for this particular race has to be an actual rudder system and we need to demonstrate it works tacking upwind in at least 10 knots of wind. I'll probably end up with something like this but I'm curious to see what other...

Emergency Rudder?
Does anyone have a good emergency rudder for their boat? We have a future race which requires one, looking for ideas.
Thanks,
Jim

Re: Head Plumbing and Y-valve
Hindsight is funny like that, always 20/20 when looking back. I had the same thought when I replaced our valve and hoses, when it was all said and done I would have gladly paid any amount of money to have someone else do that nightmare of a project. Best advice I can offer is similar to Bill's, heat...

Re: North Sails Tuning Guide
Having just re-tuned our rig I'm also questioning the validity of the North D1 and D2 numbers. I think they were reversed and the D1's (lowers) should be set at a higher tension compared to the D2's (intermediates/upper diagonal) which is not how the North tuning guide is written. 1) All of the othe...

Re: How to replace the outhaul sheet
Unfortunately I have no advice to offer but I've also been scratching my head trying to figure out the very mysterious hidden outhaul system inside the boom. Ours is quite sticky and I've been meaning to fix it at some point. I have a feeling it's going to be one of those projects that ends up being...

New Jib for in-haulers
My jib isn't even a year old yet and already it's a dinosaur. I'm confused because when I bought my boat the broker promised me owning a boat wouldn't cost anything I imagine other sailmakers will make similar sails.

Thanks Bill! I'm hoping that's where my mast is set from otherwise I have some work to do.

Mast base location?
Does anyone know if the distance called for in the tuning guides for mast base location is measured from the baseboard trim of the bulkhead or the actual bulkhead plywood? Interestingly, the 2004 North Sail guide recommends the mast base be placed 480mm from the bulkhead but all other tuning guides,...

Re: Cracking / Crazing in bildge
Hi I am looking to purchase the J/109 Knots 2 in San Francisco bay. The boat was a bank repo and has had a couple years neglect but the price is good. Of course I would survey the boat but I had one concern that I felt might be a non-starter. There is some cracking / crazing in the gellcoat in the ...
