long delay before water exhausts

There seems to be a long delay only recently from the time the engine starts, to water appearing at the exhaust. As much as 45 seconds. Does this indicate a problem?

Jib car lines easily come out of the cleats

Is anyone else experiencing the jib car adjustment lines coming out of the cleats when unloaded? mearly brushing the line with a foot is enought to dislodge it. Is there a solution?

Re: Head sink faucet hose

Any chance you came across the spray nozzle on the end? I would sure like to find the source for that.

What part is that Standup Harken Block? Ratchet useful?

The ratchet switch broke off our standup mainsheet harken block. I don't specifically miss the feature, but as I realize this block itself is the only part I have not replaced for wear or breakage, I am contemplating its replacement. Would anyone have the part number or description of our 75mm Harke...

Re: Stanchion Swap?

Are new stanchions posts available, with or without the base, for sale somewhere for U.S. built 109's boats?

Deck Chainplates

I am detecting a little bit of water under the deck near the chainplates, possibly it's noise as I have not observed leaks and am guessing that its solid not wood core. Is it solid? What are the stopes to remove and resealed those big round chainplates to the deck, and what material to use if I deci...

Instrument Cluster

My instrument cluster is wobbly. What is a good way to improve how the instrument cluster attaches to the coachroof? Simply fill and recut the screw holes, or something else?

Wanted, more J/109's to choose Huntington, NY

I would love to attract more people to keep their boats in Huntington or Northport waters. We have a very active sailing area with 3 yacht clubs, 2 inexpensive paper yacht clubs, five marinas, and multiple sailboat races every week. The J/105 fleet is growing, while there are often no 2 of any other...

Any recommendations for cord, and overall design?

Spinnaker sheets, including best overall design factors. The new sheets I purchased my crew is complaining that I didn't consider having it two different colors and that it kinks far to easy.

Halyards

Jib sheets. My 4 year old jib sheets are fraying, throwing off paint flakes all over the cockpit.

Re: Harken Winch Drum Resurfacing

Thank you! I see there is a difference between the Radial 40 and the Proforma 40, for 20% higher price. https://info.upffront.com/en-gb/blog/the-differences-between-harken-radial-and-performa-winches Looks like the Proforma is tougher on the lines with higher Abrasion but fewer wraps. Any regrets or...

Re: Class Rules Interpretation for Handrails and Rope Clutches

Halyard slipping has gotten rather worse in 2022. Three years back we upgraded to the smaller diameter ceramic version of the Spinlock teeth and a constrictor style clutch addition. For winter I am thinking what to do about it, any advice? 1) I don't remember why, but our second clutch on the halyar...

Re: Harken Winch Drum Resurfacing

1) I have the 40.2 harken winches and wondering if it would be a good investment rather than resurfacing the original drums.

I have the winch you can service from above, so that would not be a benefit of upgrading. Do the new winches match the hole pattern?

Thanks!

Re: Harken Winch Drum Resurfacing

When investigating this, I learned that Harken has stopped on these drum jobs through Harken. I can get a recommendation to an outside machinist to rough them up but they do not have a small anodizer to do the recoating.

Anyone know of other options?
