Re: Loose steering wheel
I posted information about the helm friction lock at this link where there is a diagram of the steering mechanism. The sprocket is held on with 5 bolts must be unbolted to remove the wheel. This will expose a hex nut on the shaft. If that is loose it may be tightened. If the retaining collars that a...

Re: Prop washer
What Brooke posted is the same as I have on the new Flexofold prop I have after the previous fell off while underway. Apparently, I'm not the only one to have this problem. I'll be replacing that washer every 2 years. Thanks Brooke! ps - this is the lock washer for the nut / hex bolt combo that hold...

Re: Sink Sprayer
On Vento Solare the base is a Grohe and the nozzle is Omni. Two different brands. The pull out hose is 2/04 Grohe 5 A. The top of the hose has male threads that connect with the faucet. You can probably find something that will fit in the base and match threads with the hose end.

Re: Harken Backstay Adjuster
Dan - I don't have one but if I were fitting it, I would do the following. Put on the stern locker close the stern lifelines position the adjuster handle just above the dockbox so it does not interfere when the handle is down. Move up as needed to clear the lifeline. I think the lifeline needs to be...

Re: Jib Car Adjustment Idea
Thanks Bengt.
I will just make up a shorter set of adjuster lines to use with my 6:1 configuration that will be used only for OD racing to keep extra line out of the cockpit.

Jib Car Adjustment Idea
The following idea was suggested by a Harken representative. Since many boats have now changed the jib car adjustment purchase from 4:1 to 6:1 or 8:1, there is more line in the cockpit. For boats that only sail with the OD jib the line can be limited based on the amount of travel desired. Should a b...

If you call Edson (508) 995-9711 their tech support is very good. I did that when I needed to find info about the friction lock that I posted above. Post here what you find out.

Re: Lifeline replacement
Stick with the stainless. The synthetic lifelines were allowed for offshore use but if it has not been rescinded already it will be due to failures from poor maintenance.

Look on this page on the RigRite website. It is part number NB2-2. I replaced the entire gooseneck pin assy last year and it included that shackle.

What is meant by "Mast Wedges / Spartite lubed" ? ** only applicable if you pull the rig. Use vaseline on the spartite to stop it from sticking to the mast or the deck opening How to "Check Oil Pressure, Water Temp" ? How do to this, on my boat there are idiot lights, no specific...

Re: Battery Class Rule Requirement
I noticed this thread was not answered and am transferring information that Bengt Johansson, class measurer responded to in an email. He stated: The battery requirement is the same as the last spec for EU built boats and was incorporated on the NA checklist last year and will be on this years (2018)...
