Re: Outhaul boom cleat replacement

I also replaced my out haul cleat last year. Mine is attached to the base of the mast and the pull is straight up. I just never liked the idea of people pulling the line back or to the side. I could see at some point that line breaks and someone goes swimming.

Re: Outhaul Line Replacement - How long? Other Advice?

The out haul line on it's own could be 6 or 7 mm it won't make much difference since that line runs off a pulley and directly back to the end of the boom. I don't know how much exactly but 12 feet should be plenty. There is however a number of other lines and pulley's inside the boom starting with a...

Re: Propane Tank wont fill

I had the same problem on my propane tank the one and only time I ever filled it. I don't use it much. The issue is the propane that goes in is a liquid, under pressure. For my tank they had to relieve the air pressure in the tank. When you use propane some of what's left in the tank boils away at n...

Re: Gebo Portlight Replacement Parts

Just a note of caution. I know a lot of us have lines going into the head through the rear window and the rear cabin on the port side, again, though the rear window. Over time pulling the lines in and out wear down those gaskets. I just recently bought two, one for each side. They are 17 euros each....

Sold: Reaching Spinnaker 81.3 Sq Meters

I have a smaller than class A2 spinnaker that will reach very high. Sail is in fair condition and I've only used it twice. I'm asking $250 for the sail and I'll split the shipping costs with the buyer. Contact me at frers33@verizon.net if interested and I can provide pictures and measurements.

Re: Fancy Winch Handles

I've used the Lewmar one touch and they've worked well. The Harken one touch is probably every bit as good and about $10 less.

Cockpit Showers

I had the mixer in the cockpit shower break off and fall down inside the boat. Actually the fiberglass cup disintegrated due to UV and the weight of the mixer lines was enough to pull the back of the cup off leaving just the outside rim. I found a place that sells a cup that fits the hole in the boa...

I may be interested in that sail. Let me find out if my sail maker can cut it down to a 139% and I'll get back with you.

Nice, nice boat. If I didn't already own one I'd buy it. Good luck, it looks like it's worth every penny.

Re: Instrument upgrades

I don't know how or why but I never adjust the lighting on the Garmin displays. The lighting for the Garmin displays is always on and set on red and high. During the daylight hours the displays are a yellow/green color but at night they automatically turn to red/orange. I do nothing to them at dark....
