Source for original winch handle pockets

Post by jkalucki »

The original winch handle pockets on our 2005 US made 109 are somewhat taller (12.25") than the standard Lewmar (9.8") and other generally available pockets. The original plastic has started to deteriorate and become sticky. I'm (naively) hoping to just re-use the existing screw holes and not get into a fiberglass patch and putty project. Has anyone happened across the original source for these pockets?

Thanks
John

John,

There was no "standard" for the winch holders. I've seen many different styles and brands on the various J/109s. We have Blue Performance fabric based winch handle holders on Vento Solare.

I replaced with the shorter lewmar holders. The top screws line up. The bottom screw required a new hole. I simply put a re-sealed screw in the hole no longer in use. It's barely noticeable.
