Cheap Whisker Pole Setup?

Any good ideas for an inexpensive whisker pole setup for a J/109, one design jib?
Sometimes my club turns spinnaker races into Jib & Main when not enough entries, and I get clobbered.

ok ... if not cheap, then what is an ideal Whisker pole setup for jib & main racing?

Our club does a lot of JAM racing. It is hard to be competitive against genoa boats with whisker poles. Sometimes I can sail off the wind at higher angles and jybe downwind. Sailing a much longer distance but faster. It helps but is not ideal. Try and petition the RC to make JAM racing triangle courses.
Another option is to gracefully bow out of racing that night go for a sail fly the A2 then sit on the porch and drink beer with the rest of the racers. We do that a lot too.
Best regards.

We do a fair bit of non-spinnaker twilight racing downunder - I bought a second hand aluminium spinnaker pole for about $100 and then fitted a short track and spinnaker ring to the mast.
Poling out the class genoa work really well and I can strongly recommend the setup.
Cheers
Carl

What’s the right length of the pole for the Genoa? Thinking of doing same thing for windy double handed races here in SF Bay
