The J/109 Class Association Forum

With my 109 out of the water in the parking lot, the self test in my ProMariner was tripping the local 110VAC breaker I am using to charge batteries or turn on the lights when I am doing maintenance.

I found a workaround, to disconnect one of the wires, but that then leads the remote console to give off an annoying alarm.

Has anyone found a better workaround?

Many of the original Pro-Marinar ground isolator/fault detection systems have failed. When the purchase survey was done on my boat in 2013 it was causing a similar problem. It was replaced with a ProSafe FS 30 Galvanic Isolator. There is no monitoring panel required for the newer model since it "fails safe".

I am fairly certain if I plug this back into the dock where it was, it won't trip the breaker and contemplating making no change at this time.

Before I make this decision, has there been any problems where this product looks like everything is ok, meanwhile it has failed?
