For weigh ins: We can mimic the Farr 40's. Once you weigh in at a regatta that is your weight for the calendar year. So if you weigh in at KW, then your weight is that and you never have to weigh in again until the following year.

2> Sail tags are coming out, in addition we can make a statement that sails will be periodically checked at Regattas or can measured pre regatta. The owner has the option to going to an approved third party, such as a Johnstone, J Boat dealer, or a qualified non-related class official and have it measured to verify the sailmakers measurement. Once the sail has been checked for a second time, then the sail is permanently cleared and you no longer have to deal with any onsite measurements.

I suspect many people will weigh a good deal more at KW (less than a month after the holiday season) than at BIRW (at the beginning of swim suit season).

Once sail tags are established, will any sail maker in his/her right mind build a cheater sails, knowing full well that if they get caught, the consequences would be severe? Even in this transition period, a good sample of spinnakers and jibs turned up no problems. Seems like an unnecessary hassle for the class and the owners.
