J/109 Class members voted to approve two class rules changes at the end of 2015. These rules changes include:
- Class Rule 4.3.7 modified to allowing jib inhauling with a control line system installed aft of the mast in addition the previously allowed jib inhauling with the lazy jib sheet forward of the mast. The effective date of this rule is 22 October 2015.
- Class Rule 4.3.16 added to allow installation of a Bob Stay, provided that a Bob Stay may not be used while racing under J/109 one design rules unless specifically permitted by the sailing instructions. A Bob Stay may be used for local fleet sanctioned events where authorized by the local Fleet Captain. The effective date of this rule is 1 January 2016.
