SKOOT wins 2014 North American Championship

Jim Vos’ Skoot, out of Breakwater Yacht Club (Sag Harbor, NY), sailed to victory in the 2014 J109 North American Championship, which took place during Race Week at New York Yacht Club. After the first day of racing was cancelled due to fog and stormy weather, nine races were sailed over three days, with Skoot sailing a very consistent regatta, finishing with a score of 39(4.3 average). Don Filippelli’s Caminos was second with 43 points (4.8 average) and Emoticon, captained by Jonathan Rechtschaffer, finished third with 44 points (4.9 average).
