Re: Head of Main Sail Pops Out of Track
Are there any 109 owners who have bought a Tides Marine track that could please share the specification or part number that I can use to replicate the order?
Thanks
Carl

Head of Main Sail Pops Out of Track
Hello 109 sailors,
We have had our main top 4 to 6 slides pop out of the Tides Marine track when reefed and with backstay.
Has anyone else had this issue?
Has anyone replaced their track because of this problem?
I am thinking as its a 2004 boat the track will be worn and likely failing under load ...

Re: Transmission
Hi Jody,
We had a similar issue that was because the throttle/gear handle had come lose - ie the center screw (Philips head) allowed the handle to not be centered for idle.
Anyway check that the screw and handle is tight.
Good luck.

G'day - yes my #148 has the same problem - my limited exploration points to the wiring not the gauge - but I am happy to hear what others advise.

Re: Main Sheet Rope Type
Thanks Bill - looks like West Marine have 30% off this right now.
How do you find the handling of the 9mm 3/8 size versus the 11mm 7/16 size? I imagine it runs better through the system?

Re: Code Zero Modification for Halyard & Tack Line
Hi Bill,
We use a North code zero for offshore racing using all existing 109 setup except for the furler. The biggest lesson was to keep a lot of load on the furling line - we run it back to the port headsail winch with a snap block with heavy bungy running on the furling line with triple blocks and ...

Great information Dan - many thanks for sharing - look forward to whether these idiot proof lithium drop in batteries in the future can improve and address the risks and issues you identified.
