Looking for inhauler set ups

Hey Forum,

Looking for pics and advice on best jib sheet in-hauler set up. Location is SF Bay, so often windier conditions. My new to me 2007 J-109 did not have it.

Hi Dbrousseau,

Worse comes to worse, come and look at Lindo in Sausalito. I've had an inhauler, initially rigged by Easom, for about 5 years now, but I've changed it around some since I last took comprehensive legible photos of the setup. I have the high-wind #2 jib from North. It's not cut to inhaul inboard the rail all that well, but it is rare that I want to do so.

The shock cord ends have gotten a bit ragged after a few years, but the cord doesn't last more than 3-4 years in the sun anyway. Next replacement cycle I will tie them with perfection loop or overhand loop knots (theoretically better than a bowline in shock cord) and trim them up with the hot knife. Tie some whipping around the ring, and then tie the shock cord to the whipping. Looping shock cord around the ring allows them to pop out too easily.

Easom used Antal size S R 30.56 friction rings to accommodate hard jib shackles. I've switched to soft jib shackles would would probably go down several ring sizes.

I've been thinking of moving the control line to a cabin-edge jam cleat, similar to the vang, for faster access, but the lever cleat works well enough.
