Replacing batteries

Post by dbrousseau »

My 109 came with 3 big batteries and they are end of life. Planning to go to two to save weight. Class rules are a min 2 lead acid batteries with combined min 150 ah.

Question, what is the best set up for those two batteries given boat is mainly used for local and coastal racing, some overnight perks but not much cruising. San Francisco location (not real cold or hot) What sizes? There is a Prosine inverter installed.

Dan,

You can do this with a Group 31 for house and Group 24 for engine start. I recommend using AGMs for both longevity and maintenance free.
