In ORC Secfurity CAT 2 the following shall be provided:

"two permanently installed manual bilge pumps, one operable from above, the other from below deck. Each pump shall be operable with all cockpit seats, hatches and companionways shut and shall have permanently installed discharge pipe(s) of sufficient capacity to accommodate simultaneously both pumps."

Any ideas on how to mount the pump below? One idea would be behind the starbord berth, another in the toilet?

Please advise!

thanks for bringing this issue up. Would installing the pump in the aft port locker, accessible via the door in the toilet comply with the requirement? The problem is what to do with the intake hose. It would be handy to have it coiled up in the back and
out of the way.

I guess that would be OK.

The latest guess from Didier (manager of J/Europe) is to place the pump under the sink in the toilet, with a loose intake hose in the cabinet.

Through hull has to be above waterline but that would be easy to do in this arrangement.

I'll get back with pictures when I get the boat

OK, here's the pictures. The pump was placed behind the toilet with the hose rolled behind the cabin seat. Very nice, but hard to "retrofit"?
