Quadrant slipping on rudder post?

Post by ralph142 »

I own hull #34, formerly perseverance and juice. The quadrant has been slipping on the rudder post when stressed. Has anyone else experienced this? Thinking a good solution might be to drill through and bolt the two together, rather than rely on the friction and set bolts

so the word I get from edson is that the set screws on the aft side of the quadrant should be tapped directly into the shaft. mine were not, and so for the last 10 years the system has relied solely on friction. the fix is, drill and tap. always a joy with stainless.
