If you have Spinlock, you wann't to "upgrade" to smaller cams, CAM-0608. Worked great for us even in combination with 10 mm Liros Racer Pro and North 3Di.

Looking into a staysail for local handicap racing (no penalty). Any advise? Material/design/setup/systems/experience?

Did our first "real" offshore race this week - 100 mile doublehanded upwind along the Norwegian coast in 25-35 knots!

Boat kept dry inside except wet gear + sails + a few waves coming down the stairs... and sipped down between the floor boards. Some of it got stuck in the kitchen corner against ...

Since it's freezing here in Sweden, I'm spending my time on theory :smile:

Collected a lot of data from last years races (93 MB with Expedition), and are in the process of updating the rather generic polars that Quantum and other have published.

Anyone out there who done any work on this ...

What's the typical penalty in PHRF for going with 150% genoa vs jib?

Typical penalty in IRC is 2%, 1.6% in IMS/ORC internationa and in our local handicap system LYS it's 1%.

since we're not in OD, we use inhaulers on the jib. Chris, can you say something on how tight we could sheet the jib? Max should be on the grabrail? I know the faster X-35s are now using super tight angles.

In heavy air, should we use them or just sheet to the track?

I just got delivery of #326 and last weekend we did our first race (20 miles around the island of Hermanö, wind 20-25 knots).

At times we had great speed, but had difficulties maintaining it. I had the polars from Quantums site and think we sailed up to them.

OK, here's the pictures. The pump was placed behind the toilet with the hose rolled behind the cabin seat. Very nice, but hard to "retrofit"?

I guess that would be OK.

The latest guess from Didier (manager of J/Europe) is to place the pump under the sink in the toilet, with a loose intake hose in the cabinet.

Through hull has to be above waterline but that would be easy to do in this arrangement.

I got them to agree to prefeed the cables.

Also, we had a good discussion on placing the paddleweel on centerline. They promised to prepare for this by removing some of the woodwork in advance.
