Updates to 2004 tuning guide for 2003 hull ?
I have hull 34, a 2003 North American build and have finally set the mast base up as per the north 2004 tuning guide, i.e. 480 mm behind the bulkhead. I cannot shift it forward any more without pulling it and re drilling / tapping bolt holes in the mast step. Otherwise, my mast rake (headstay length ...

propane solenoid failure ?
Apparently, mine has failed. I have not taken it off yet, but its getting power and won't open, so no gas flow. Has anyone run into this or replaced this part ? Looks easy anyway. 2003 build.
Thanks.
Thanks.

cabin top hatch leak . ~ hull #34
I've been bothered by a slight cabin top hatch leak over the last 4-5 years. I finally took it off to rebed it. The hole in the cabin top is nicely finished off and gel coated through the thickness of the deck, so there is no worry about water ingress into the core (except through the screw holes of ...

Re: Lifeline replacement
I had synthetic on my j/33, 1/4 inch sampson dyneema. switched back. lots of inspection/maint headache. How frayed is too much ? how confident are you in 25/35 knots ? approximately yearly replacement. no thanks.

Pre feeder for jib ?
Has anyone mounted a prefeeder on the jib foil? If so how, lashing? Screwed into the flat aft face?

genoa car block replacement
I had Harken carbo 40 fiddle blocks on the forward ends of the genoa cars. Both broke across the smaller sheave this weekend in 25 or so knots gusts with the class jib up (and no barberhauler). Fortunately only one break was very explosive and the car did not come off the track, so we could jury rig ...

windseeker for < 2 knots
Has anyone used a windseeker on 109s ? a very lite~ 90% free flying luff jib. mostly just works to create and direct some flow over the main. I had one for both a j/33 and 27 that worked very nicely, but haven't made one up for this boat yet.
